The project began after the wave of game industry layoffs in 2023 as a way to build something meaningful, personal, and driven by passion instead of pressure.

The goal is to create high quality games using the creative values and craftsmanship of past era development studios, bringing those techniques to modern audiences through small, carefully built releases.

The name "Pueo," drawn from the Hawaiian owl, symbolizes wisdom and good fortune. The pixelated logo of a single wing forming an upward pointing arrow represents resilience, creativity, and forward momentum.
